FAQs
Do you take insurance?
I am an out-of-network provider with insurance companies, which means that clients pay the full session fee at the end of each therapy session. I am happy to provide you with a superbill to submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. The amount of reimbursement depends on your out-of-network benefits.
Why should I consider an out-of-network therapist?
As an out-of-network provider, I am able to work with you to determine the appropriate amount and type of care based on your unique situation, rather than having your insurance company dictate this. Additionally, out-of-network therapy is the only type of therapy that is able to be truly confidential, as I am not required to disclose any information about your care to your insurance company. This article provides more details on the benefits of working with an out-of-network provider.
How much do sessions cost?
The initial (intake) session costs $200. All subsequent sessions cost $185.
Do you offer in-person sessions?
I only offer telehealth (virtual) sessions at this time. Research has shown that, for most people, telehealth is just as effective as face-to-face therapy. In fact, there are many benefits to virtual therapy sessions, including the ability to meet in a space where you are most comfortable and increased scheduling flexibility.
How do I get started?
If you are interested in working with me, the first step is to send an email with a brief description of what you’re hoping to work on in therapy. I will then schedule you for an initial (intake) appointment, during which I will assess your current treatment needs and make a recommendation. If appropriate, we would then begin meeting for weekly or biweekly therapy sessions. Additionally, if desired, I am happy to offer a free 15-minute phone consultation to discuss your concerns and assess whether we might be a good match for therapy before scheduling this initial appointment.
