Client-centered therapy, supported by science

I believe that therapy should be a collaborative process in which therapist and client work together to achieve the client’s treatment goals.

I therefore begin my work with each client by getting a clear sense of what they are hoping to address in therapy, and I work with them to set clear and realistic goals for us to work toward. Then, using the best available research, I develop an empirically-supported treatment plan that is tailored to each client’s individual characteristics, needs, and preferences. This plan is updated throughout treatment, in collaboration with the client, as we work together, which helps to ensure that we are continuously making progress toward therapy goals.

Throughout this process, I provide a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment in which clients are able to celebrate successes, process difficulties, and move toward the life they wish to live.
